Our classes offer the flexibility of Yoga and the strength of Pilates.  Each class helps enable increased physical strength, stamina and flexibility as well as enhanced mental clarity and calmness.  This unique approach will help you transform both body and mind. If you want to achieve real, long lasting results, you must do more than exercise your body.

How can Yoga and Chiropractic Care work together for your benefit?  Chiropractic aims to enhance neurological function by improving the functional relationships of the spine and related structures. Once functional relationships (subluxations) are improved, yoga helps to strengthen the supporting muscles through a series of poses designed to improve posture and strength. For example, poses such as Downward Facing Dog and Plank are strength-building poses.   Folding poses not only calm the central nervous system, but also allow the lumbar, thoracic and cervical areas of the spine to stretch and decompress. Bridge pose further increases the range of motion by moving the spine in the opposite direction.  For those slouching at a workstation all day, Eagle pose, helps open the cervical spine and shoulders.  Pilates is added to the series to develop core strength.

Many people do not realize that when performed regularly, yoga has much more to offer than simply another form of exercise. In addition to re-aligning the spine, yoga helps us control the breath, the mind, and also improves internal awareness.

In addition, yoga practice helps regulate our organs and restore balance to the body. By balancing our mind and body, we can reduce the effects of our daily stress, and ultimately, lead happier, healthier lives. Yoga helps put your health in your hands.

The breathing techniques used in yoga aid in removing toxins from the body, and allow the body to extract more oxygen from the air. More oxygen from the air, equates to more life sustaining oxygen to all the cells, including the brain. Only when enough oxygen is getting to all the tissues, can full repair and growth occur.

For these reasons, yoga poses can ideally complement the chiropractic rehabilitation program.
